Catalogue of video meteor orbits.

Part 1, years 1998 - 2001

The paper version of this catalogue contains heliocentric orbits of 817 meteors recorded within the double station program of the video observation of meteors at the Ondøejov observatory in years 1998 - 2001.

Additional 24 meteors, whose trajectories were calculated later, are included in this electronic version. Thus this electronic version contains altogether 841 meteors (last update 14/04/2004).

Usage of the catalogue data is welcome. Only the reference to the original paper is requested. Reference:

Explanation of used symbols

METEOR - identification of the meteor
Date is encoded in the meteor number: YYMDDXXX - YY are the last two digits of the year, M is the month: 1 to 9 - January to September, A - October, B - November, C - December, DD is the day (evening date) and XXX is number of the meteor, which counting starts
at the beginning of the night. It means that the actual day of the event is equal DD if time T>12 UT and DD+1 if T<12 UT.
TIME - given in UT

αG, δG - right ascension and declination of the geocentric radiant
vG - geocentric velocity.
Errors of these values are given in the second row.

m - photometric mass of meteoriod. Masses of meteors which enter or leave field of view are marked by asterisk. Such mass is only a lower limit of real value.
Mabs - the maximum brightness of the meteor converted to the distance of 100 km.

Heliocentric orbit of the meteoroid:
a - semimajor axis
e - eccentricity
q - perihelion distance
ω - argument of perihelion
Ω - longitude of the ascending node
i  - inclination.
Errors of these values are given in the second row.
Sometimes, there is symbol of ∞ in the field of semimajor axis value. It does not mean the parabolic or hyperbolic orbit with the eccentricity e>1.0. Actually, this symbol expresses the fact, that the eccentricity is very close to the value 1.0 (i.e. within the 3σ) what results in greater uncertainty in determination of the semimajor axis.

SHOWER - meteor shower membership computed on the basis of the D-criterion (Southworth and Hawkins).
(List of meteor showers)
Q - the angle between meteor planes as seen from both stations
