Welcome to RadioSun-5

The 5th RadioSun Workshop and Summer School will take place on May 23-27, 2016 in České Budějovice, district town of the South Bohemia in the Czech Republic. RadioSun-5 is co-organised by the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia which will kindly host the entire event.

The RadioSun-5 will bring together the most recent observational results with theoretical advances as well as MHD numerical simulation techniques to address the outstanding problems in solar plasma physics. Continuing in a tradition of the RadioSun workshops & schools the programme will be devoted to teaching and discussion topics of:

The RadioSun Workshop and Summer School 2016 is the 5th international academic seminar supported by the International Research Staff Exchange Scheme of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union (FP7-IRSES-295272-RADIOSUN). The aims of this project are to establish close research interaction and collaboration between the key EU (UK, Poland, Czech Republic) and non-EU (Russia, China) research groups involved in the research of the Sun in the radio band; qualitatively advance our knowledge of the physical processes operating in the solar atmosphere, the basic mechanisms responsible for its evolution and dynamics and its effect on the Earth; and provide younger researchers with extensive training in relevant research techniques and with universal transfer.

The RadioSun-5 is open to all RadioSun project members and their invited guests. Participation by graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and young scientists are particularly encouraged.

We look forward seeing you in České Budějovice,

Hana Mészárosová and Petr Jelínek
