Fragmented periodic comet Machholz 2

These are discovery images of nuclei B and E, respectively. Nucleus A is the brightest one on the first image and produces large coma and tail on the former image; in the upper left corner there is the nucleus B, apparent as diffuseness with little condensation. Nucleus D is the brightest one on the later image; nuclei C and E are on the opposite sides of B. Nucleus C is rather close to D, while E is in the upper middle part of the image. The images were taken by Petr Pravec on September 4.1, 1994. Nucleus C was co-discovered by the same observer two days earlier.
